Automatic Writing:
A form of channeling, in which Spirit Guides write directly through the
hand(s) of the medium (channel). This can be done by hand, or on a
typewriter or computer. Although the handwriting, syntax, spelling/grammar
and language(s) may vary from one Spirit “speaker” to another, these texts
are usually accompanied by simultaneous or near-simultaneous telepathic
messages that form in the medium’s/channel’s consciousness. For an
excellent account of experiences with automatic writing, refer to
the book, “Ruth Montgomery: Herald of the New Age.” See also:
channeling.

Channeling:
Channels bring through information and/or energy from the invisible realms.
In its simplest form, the channeling of information is little more
than “inspiration from on high.” When someone says, “God gave me the
words,” or “an Angel told me what to say,” or even “Gee, I wonder where
that came from?” they are usually speaking of a channeling experience.
In its more complex forms, it often involves a trance state, which may be
deep, light, or anywhere in between, and Spirit Guides who speak through a
channel’s voice, write through his or her hands, or communicate thoughts to
her or him telepathically, which the channel then relates to others
present. Anyone can do it, or can learn to do it. In its simplest and most
common form, the channeling of energy happens, usually spontaneously,
in emergency situations. When confronted with a crisis, many people tap
into resources (i.e., Universal energy, God’s strength, help from the
Angels, etc.) to fill themselves with strength that would otherwise have
been far beyond their personal capabilities. In its more complex forms, the
channeling of energy is taught/studied through a great many different
modalities, and is consciously focused on the channel’s chosen goal. It is
commonly used for healing, for protection, or as a gateway for deeper
spiritual exploration and fulfillment.

Christ-consciousness:
That character of consciousness into which the principles of Christ’s
teaching have been incorporated. It has nothing to do with whether one is a
Christian or not, but is, rather, a descriptive term for the consciousness
(as demonstrated in their behavior) of those whose spiritual development
follows Christ’s example.

|
|
Clairaudience:
Clear-hearing; a term
usually applied to those who hear prophetic statements. Also used to
describe psychic talent where the person "hears" information in spoken words
rather than seeing in visions or feeling through the emotions.
|
|
Clairgnosis:
Clear-knowing; a term applied to those who receive knowledge of the future,
which may come to them in various forms.
|
 |
Clairvoyance:
Clear-seeing; a term
usually applied to those who see visions of the future and/or who can "see"
places and surroundings, even from great distances.

|
Entity:
An identity, person or
personality, or a group persona. We might speak of “a corporate entity” (a
company to do business with), or “a spiritual entity” (which can mean a
living person, or one who is not incarnate/physically embodied at this
time).

|
|
Entity Attachment:
A persona that is “piggybacked” onto someone else, usually (but not always)
a disembodied spirit seeking to live through, or to control, a living
person. This is a parasitic relationship that drains the host’s energy; it
occurs without the host’s permission and usually without the host’s
knowledge. Attaching entities may include animals, extra-terrestrials, or
others whose nature is non-human. Entity attachment is considered a form of
“possession,” and is corrected by exorcistic techniques. Author Dr. Edith
Fiore’s book, “The Unquiet Dead,” contains much good information on
the subject. See also:
Exorcism in the
Healing Arts section of this
